Have you ever gone on an outdoor adventure when it was cold and all you thought you needed was a good jacket, gloves and a beanie, but then you realized your face froze off?
That has happened to me several times this fall and winter in the Colorado Rockies. But all that has changed since I now

My wife and me usually take a small vacation in the winter time, typically to some place warmer than Kentucky, but over the next few years we are changing that a bit because we want to go hiking in the snow. I really like that you chose a nice face mask that really does not have that many bad qualities, because my wife and me would need one like that for sure! The fact that it is wind and waterproof also further the fact that we need it!
It is a great face mask but I’m going to order a size smaller because I felt like the sides where my sunglasses connect were pushing out a little. You can see that if you take a closer look at the photos. I have a LG/XL but I’m going to get the SM/Med and see if the more snug fit is better.
Just keep the size in mind when you purchase one.

This would have come in very handy when I went to visit my sister in Colorado a few weeks ago! We went on a hike while I was up there, and although beautiful scenery it was super cold! And since I live in Texas, I was not prepared for that kind of cold! I will be next time though with this face mask, thank you so much for sharing! I can’t wait to go back now!
That’s awesome, because you were probably here the same weekend I was hiking the Golden Gate Canyon State Park, which was the weekend I nearly froze on the trail.
I’m exaggerating a little. I was very warm except for my face, after I took the face mask off. The icicles started forming on my eyebrows which was an indication that the face mask was going back on.

I live in a really hot country in Africa, so I have never experienced that cold face that you are talking about. However I am planning to do my first trip overseas this year and it happens to be Seattle, which I believe is really cold this time of year. I would like to do outdoor activities without the cold hampering me, and it will be at the end of the year, so maybe it is a good idea to purchase one of these masks for just this reason?
I like that it has air vents to breath, as there is nothing worse than something covering your nose and feeling like you can’t breathe.
It would be great to have one of these in your pack, even if you find you don’t need it. It rains a lot there so you should have some good rain gear with you.
I like the air vents also because it helps to keep my sunglasses from fogging up.
I would love to hear about your trip to Seattle and if you get out on any trails there.

Hi, I am a bit of a wimp in the cold. I tend to be miserable when i’m cold and my toes and fingers are always the first annoying things to happen. I love balaclavas though. Along with wearing a hoodie. It helps to keep your whole body warm. I would say it is a must.
I agree with you. It was funny how fast the icicles formed on my eyebrows when I pulled the face mask off.

Face masks are a must in really cool weather. It’s incredible the amount of research and technology behind the fibers they’re made of.
It’s not only about comfort. They are also intended to deliver health by protecting your face’s muscles from exposition of strong temperature changes.
